Refund and Cancellation Policy

Effective Date: July 20, 2026

Last Updated: July 20, 2026

1. Scope

This Refund and Cancellation Policy applies to products and services purchased from High Peaks Refuge LLC through MikeDeJong.com, including:

  • Live workshops and events;
  • Virtual workshops and webinars;
  • Consulting, advisory, and coaching services;
  • Digital books and downloadable resources;
  • Online courses and recorded programs;
  • Memberships and recurring subscriptions;
  • Payment plans;
  • Event upgrades and add-ons; and
  • Other educational or business-development products and services.

A particular offer, order form, checkout page, invoice, event registration, statement of work, or signed agreement may contain additional or different terms. When those terms conflict with this general policy, the more specific written terms control for that purchase, except where applicable law provides otherwise.

2. Review Before Purchasing

Before completing a purchase, please review:

  • The product or service description;
  • Dates, times, locations, and delivery format;
  • Included and excluded items;
  • Pricing and payment schedule;
  • Eligibility requirements;
  • Cancellation deadlines;
  • Transfer rules;
  • Guarantee conditions; and
  • Any offer-specific refund terms.

Completing a purchase confirms that you had an opportunity to review the applicable terms.

3. Live-Event 100% Money-Back Guarantee

When a High Peaks Refuge LLC live event is expressly advertised with a 100% Money-Back Guarantee, an eligible attendee may request a refund of the event registration fee under the conditions below.

3.1 Eligibility requirements

To qualify, the attendee must:

  • Personally attend the entire eligible event;
  • Arrive on time and remain through the event’s scheduled conclusion;
  • Participate in good faith;
  • Follow event conduct requirements;
  • Submit the refund request before leaving the venue on the event’s final scheduled day; and
  • Provide the purchaser’s name, registration email, event name, and transaction information.

The attendee does not need to demonstrate a particular business result. The guarantee addresses satisfaction with the eligible event itself.

3.2 How to request the guarantee

The attendee must notify an authorized High Peaks Refuge LLC representative at the event before leaving and must also send written confirmation to: info@highpeaksrefuge.com

The email should state: “I am requesting a refund under the 100% Money-Back Guarantee for [event name and date].”

3.3 What the guarantee covers

The guarantee covers the eligible event registration fee actually paid directly to High Peaks Refuge LLC.

It does not cover:

  • Airfare or other transportation;
  • Hotels or lodging;
  • Meals;
  • Parking;
  • Visa expenses;
  • Lost wages, revenue, or business opportunities;
  • Financing or interest charges;
  • Currency-conversion costs;
  • Third-party processing or booking fees;
  • Products purchased separately;
  • Consulting or coaching services;
  • Event add-ons expressly identified as nonrefundable; or
  • Incidental or consequential expenses.

3.4 Guarantee exclusions

The guarantee does not apply to:

  • No-shows;
  • Partial attendance;
  • Requests submitted after the event;
  • Registrations obtained through fraud or unauthorized resale;
  • Attendees removed for misconduct;
  • Duplicate requests;
  • Complimentary or scholarship registrations;
  • Travel-only or lodging-only purchases;
  • Third-party products or services;
  • Chargeback abuse; or
  • Events not expressly promoted with the guarantee.

The guarantee may not be transferred to another person unless High Peaks Refuge LLC approves the transfer in writing.

4. Live-Event Cancellations by Attendees

Unless an event page states otherwise, the following policy applies when an attendee cancels before an event.

4.1 More than 30 calendar days before the event

The purchaser may choose:

  • A refund of the registration fee, less any clearly disclosed and legally permissible nonrecoverable transaction costs;
  • A one-time transfer to another available event occurring within 12 months; or
  • A transferable registration credit issued to another eligible attendee.

4.2 Between 15 and 30 calendar days before the event

The purchaser may receive:

  • A one-time event credit equal to the registration fee; or
  • An approved attendee substitution.

A cash refund is not guaranteed during this period unless required by the offer or applicable law.

4.3 Fourteen calendar days or fewer before the event

Registrations are ordinarily nonrefundable because venue commitments, materials, staffing, and event costs have been finalized.

At our discretion, we may approve:

  • An attendee substitution;
  • A transfer credit;
  • Partial credit; or
  • Another reasonable accommodation.

4.4 No-shows

No-shows are not eligible for refunds or credits unless:

  • The offer expressly provides otherwise;
  • High Peaks Refuge LLC approves an exception in writing; or
  • Applicable law requires a remedy.

5. Attendee Substitutions

A purchaser may request to substitute another qualified attendee.

Requests must be sent to info@highpeaksrefuge.com and include:

  • Original purchaser’s name;
  • Original attendee’s name;
  • Replacement attendee’s name;
  • Replacement attendee’s email and telephone number; and
  • Event name and date.

Substitutions are subject to:

  • Available capacity;
  • Eligibility requirements;
  • Completion of required forms;
  • Acceptance of event terms; and
  • Payment of any price difference or disclosed administrative charge.

Registrations may not be commercially resold.

6. Event Cancellation, Postponement, or Relocation by Us

High Peaks Refuge LLC may cancel, postpone, relocate, reschedule, change speakers, or change an event’s delivery format when reasonably necessary.

6.1 Event canceled without a replacement

When we cancel an event and do not offer a substantially equivalent replacement, the purchaser may choose:

  • A refund of the registration fee paid directly to High Peaks Refuge LLC; or
  • A credit toward another eligible event or service.

6.2 Event postponed or rescheduled

When an event is postponed or rescheduled, the registration will ordinarily transfer to the new date.

When the purchaser cannot attend the replacement date, we may offer:

  • A transfer to another event;
  • An event credit; or
  • A refund, depending on the circumstances and applicable offer terms.

6.3 Format or venue change

A reasonable change in speaker, agenda, venue within the same general region, or delivery format does not automatically create a refund right when the event’s essential educational purpose remains available.

6.4 Travel expenses

High Peaks Refuge LLC is not responsible for airfare, lodging, meals, lost work, or other travel-related expenses caused by a cancellation, postponement, relocation, or format change.

Attendees should consider refundable reservations or travel insurance.

7. Force-Majeure Events

An event may be canceled, postponed, relocated, or converted to another format because of circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including:

  • Severe weather;
  • Natural disaster;
  • Wildfire;
  • Public-health emergency;
  • War or terrorism;
  • Civil unrest;
  • Government restrictions;
  • Labor disruption;
  • Venue closure;
  • Transportation interruption;
  • Speaker illness or emergency;
  • Utility failure;
  • Telecommunications or platform outage;
  • Cyberattack; or
  • Similar circumstances.

We will make reasonable efforts to provide:

  • A rescheduled event;
  • A substantially equivalent alternative;
  • An event credit; or
  • Another appropriate remedy.

Refund rights in these circumstances will depend on the applicable offer, unavoidable costs already incurred, and applicable law.

8. Virtual Events and Webinars

Unless otherwise stated, paid virtual-event registrations are refundable when cancellation is requested at least seven calendar days before the event.

Requests submitted fewer than seven days before the event may be eligible for:

  • Access to the recording;
  • A future-event credit;
  • An attendee substitution; or
  • Another accommodation offered by us.

A purchaser who attends or accesses a substantial portion of the live virtual event is not ordinarily eligible for a refund unless the event had an express satisfaction guarantee.

Failure caused by the attendee’s internet connection, device, software, email filtering, calendar configuration, or failure to join at the scheduled time does not automatically create a refund right.

When a material technical failure on our side prevents delivery and no reasonable recording, replacement session, or equivalent remedy is provided, we will issue an appropriate refund or credit.

9. Consulting, Advisory, and Coaching Services

Consulting, advisory, and coaching engagements may have specific refund and cancellation provisions in a proposal, statement of work, invoice, order form, or signed agreement.

Unless those documents state otherwise:

  • Deposits reserve capacity and are nonrefundable after work begins;
  • Fees for completed services are nonrefundable;
  • Scheduled sessions require at least two business days’ notice to reschedule;
  • Late cancellations and missed sessions may be treated as used;
  • Unused sessions expire at the end of the engagement period;
  • Client delay, nonparticipation, or failure to implement does not create a refund right;
  • Dissatisfaction with business results does not create a refund right; and
  • Refunds for prepaid, undelivered services will be determined based on work completed, resources committed, and the applicable agreement.

High Peaks Refuge LLC may refund any unearned prepaid amount if we terminate an engagement without cause and do not provide the contracted remaining services.

10. Digital Products, Books, Downloads, and Recordings

Because digital products can generally be accessed, copied, or downloaded immediately, digital purchases are ordinarily nonrefundable once:

  • The download link has been delivered;
  • The file has been downloaded;
  • Course or portal access has been activated;
  • A recording has been accessed; or
  • Substantial digital content has been delivered.

We may provide a replacement, access correction, or refund when:

  • The purchaser was charged more than once;
  • The wrong product was delivered;
  • The file is materially defective and cannot be repaired or replaced;
  • Access was never provided because of our error; or
  • Applicable law requires a refund.

A free copy of Grow Smart carries no cash refund value.

11. Online Courses and Programs

Unless an offer includes a different written guarantee:

  • Refund requests must be received within seven calendar days after purchase;
  • The purchaser must not have completed or accessed more than 20% of the program;
  • Downloaded templates, files, certificates, or bonus materials may make the purchase ineligible for a refund;
  • Refunds are unavailable after the stated refund window; and
  • Removal for misconduct, credential sharing, infringement, or prohibited use does not qualify for a refund.

A course-specific guarantee shown at checkout controls over this general section.

12. Memberships and Recurring Subscriptions

This section applies only when a product is sold as a recurring subscription.

12.1 Cancellation

A subscriber may cancel through:

Cancellation stops future renewal charges after the cancellation becomes effective.

12.2 Previously charged periods

Unless required by law or expressly stated in the offer:

  • Prior subscription charges are nonrefundable;
  • Partial-month refunds are not provided;
  • Failure to use the service does not create a refund right; and
  • Access may continue through the end of the paid billing period.

12.3 Accidental renewal

We may consider a refund request submitted promptly after an accidental renewal when:

  • The subscriber did not use the service after renewal;
  • The request was submitted within seven calendar days; and
  • No prior refund abuse is present.

This discretionary accommodation does not create a continuing contractual right.

Cancellation processes should be clear and reasonably accessible. Federal regulators continue to scrutinize misleading enrollment, recurring billing, and unnecessarily difficult cancellation practices.

13. Installment Plans

A fixed installment plan divides the price of a product or service into multiple payments. It is not a cancel-anytime subscription unless the written offer expressly says otherwise.

When a purchaser selects installments:

  • The full purchase price remains due;
  • Failure to attend or use the product does not cancel future installments;
  • Refund eligibility is determined by the underlying product’s policy;
  • An approved refund may be reduced by amounts already refunded, credited, or legitimately earned;
  • Access may be suspended after a failed payment; and
  • We may continue lawful collection activity for amounts due.

A refund of one installment does not automatically cancel the entire payment obligation unless confirmed in writing.

14. Payment-Processing Fees

High Peaks Refuge LLC will not deduct payment-processing fees from a refund unless:

  • The deduction was clearly disclosed before purchase;
  • The applicable offer allows it; and
  • The deduction is permitted by law.

Stripe may not return original processing fees to the business when a payment is refunded, depending on the account’s pricing arrangement.

Any nonrefundable fee must be disclosed clearly before purchase and will not be hidden or added after checkout.

15. Refund Method

Approved refunds will ordinarily be returned to the original payment method.

We generally will not issue a refund to:

  • A different card;
  • A different bank account;
  • Cash when the original purchase was electronic;
  • Another individual; or
  • An unrelated third party.

When the original payment method is unavailable, we may require additional identity and transaction verification before using another lawful method.

16. Refund Timing

We will ordinarily initiate an approved card refund within 10 business days after approval.

After submission, the customer’s bank or card issuer controls when the credit becomes visible. Stripe states that refunds commonly take approximately 5–10 business days to appear, although timing varies by bank, card network, and refund status.

ACH refunds may operate differently and may not be initiated until the underlying payment has completed. Stripe currently limits ACH Direct Debit refund initiation to 180 days from the original payment date.

17. Refund Status and Failed Refunds

A refund may be:

  • Pending;
  • Successful;
  • Failed;
  • Canceled; or
  • Reversed.

When a refund fails because the original payment method is closed, invalid, or otherwise unavailable, we may request additional information to resolve the refund securely.

A refund is not complete until the processor confirms successful settlement.

18. Duplicate or Incorrect Charges

Report duplicate, incorrect, or unrecognized charges promptly to: info@highpeaksrefuge.com

Include:

  • Purchaser’s name;
  • Email address;
  • Transaction date;
  • Amount;
  • Last four digits of the payment method, when appropriate;
  • Invoice or receipt number; and
  • Description of the issue.

Do not send complete card numbers, CVV codes, online banking credentials, or passwords by email.

19. Chargebacks and Payment Disputes

Please contact us before filing a chargeback so we have an opportunity to investigate and resolve the issue.

We may contest a chargeback using:

  • Checkout acceptance records;
  • Receipts and invoices;
  • Access logs;
  • Download records;
  • Attendance records;
  • Email and SMS communications;
  • Refund-policy versions;
  • Shipping or delivery records;
  • Signed agreements; and
  • Other relevant evidence.

Filing a dispute does not automatically cancel a contract, payment plan, or valid balance.

A fully refunded credit-card charge ordinarily cannot also proceed as a chargeback against that same charge.

Nothing in this section limits a cardholder’s nonwaivable rights under applicable law or card-network rules.

20. Fraud and Abuse

We may deny or revoke a discretionary refund when there is credible evidence of:

  • Fraud;
  • Identity misrepresentation;
  • Unauthorized resale;
  • Credential sharing;
  • Repeated guarantee abuse;
  • Downloading or copying substantial content before requesting a refund;
  • False chargeback claims;
  • Event misconduct;
  • Intellectual-property infringement; or
  • Another material violation of our Terms and Conditions.

This section does not eliminate refund rights that cannot legally be waived.

21. Statutory Cancellation Rights

Some transactions may carry cancellation or refund rights under federal or state law regardless of this policy.

For example, the FTC Cooling-Off Rule can provide a three-business-day cancellation right for certain sales of more than $25 made at a buyer’s home or certain temporary locations. It does not apply to every online, office, event, or business transaction.

When a transaction is legally subject to a mandatory cancellation, delivery, or refund rule, High Peaks Refuge LLC will honor the applicable requirement.

Nothing in this policy waives rights that applicable law does not permit a consumer to waive.

22. Physical Merchandise

This section applies only when High Peaks Refuge LLC sells and ships physical merchandise.

Unless an offer states otherwise:

  • Returns must be requested within 30 calendar days after delivery;
  • Items must be unused and in resalable condition;
  • Digital components and personalized products may be nonreturnable;
  • The purchaser is responsible for return shipping unless the item was defective or incorrect;
  • Original shipping charges are nonrefundable unless legally required; and
  • A return authorization may be required.

If merchandise cannot be shipped within the promised timeframe, customers will receive the notice and cancellation options required by applicable law. Federal mail, internet, and telephone-order rules require sellers to address shipment delays and provide refunds in specified circumstances.

23. Promotional Discounts, Scholarships, and Complimentary Access

Promotional codes, scholarship registrations, complimentary tickets, barter arrangements, sponsor-provided access, and donated registrations:

  • Have no cash value unless stated otherwise;
  • May be nontransferable;
  • May be subject to separate eligibility requirements; and
  • Are not eligible for cash refunds when no cash payment was made.

When a partial scholarship was combined with a paid amount, any approved refund is limited to the eligible amount actually paid.

24. Bundled Offers

For a bundle containing multiple products or services:

  • Refund eligibility may be determined for the bundle as a whole;
  • Accessing or receiving one component may affect eligibility for the entire bundle;
  • Bonuses have no separate cash value unless priced separately;
  • Refund amounts may reflect the standalone value of retained components; and
  • Offer-specific terms control.

25. Processing a Refund Request

To request a refund, cancellation, substitution, or transfer, email: info@highpeaksrefuge.com

Use the subject line: Refund or Cancellation Request

Include:

  • Full name;
  • Purchase email;
  • Telephone number;
  • Order, invoice, or receipt number;
  • Product or event name;
  • Purchase date;
  • Requested resolution;
  • Reason for the request; and
  • Supporting information.

We may request reasonable verification to prevent fraud and confirm authority to act for the purchaser.

26. Communications About a Request

Refund and cancellation communications may be sent by email, telephone, or SMS when appropriate.

Submitting a refund request does not create consent to receive unrelated promotional messages.

Necessary communications concerning the transaction may continue even when the customer has unsubscribed from marketing.

27. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy prospectively to reflect changes in products, law, vendors, or business practices.

The policy applicable to a purchase is generally the version presented or made available at the time of purchase, together with any offer-specific terms.

Material changes will not retroactively reduce a completed purchaser’s contractual rights unless permitted by law.
